Apparently these stonefields have evidence of stones being moved. First to allow the Maori people to grow food and cook meals, then by Europeans who moved them to make fences. There are supposedly three trails to follow, but we ended up going from the bird viewing area to the other end of the field (completely lost) before managing to find a trail. Nathan was highly unimpressed, so we had to add climbing to the expedition! Of course, Suzie couldn't be outdone and followed the leader! Otherwise, just a "fun" family walk with nice scenery!

Otuataua Stonefields - an ancient place
