After visiting Mt. Ruapehu for the day, we headed off to Lake Taupo. That was lots of fun! We went to a thermal hot pool for an hour or so after nightfall (me in a baby ring that kept my head above water). Then we got to go to McDonalds! (Daddy was a bit embarrassed, because we have so far stayed clear of such places.) This one was unique as it had a real DC-3 that we could eat inside! This plane used to fly all over New Zealand in the sixties! Really neat!
That night we were worn out and all of us went to bed early - well, 9:30 so early for me! Right while we were enjoying our lullabies, a noise started! Mummy and Daddy were running around the room like a chicken with its head cut off! Then we were whisked outside passing firemen as we left!! What excitement!
